GB QV SG.2 1d black plate 6 (hb) on entire to leeds from Gomersal

A tidy 1d black cover dated August 14th 1841 sent from Gomersal near Leeds, to Leeds with neatly struck Black Maltese Cross. Stamp just clipped lower right.

Content of letter as follows

"Dear Sir,

Matthews **iquees vs Bradley

As Mr. Barris’ time for making his award expires on the 1st of Sept. and as he cannot fix a day during this month which will be convenient to all parties, we presume you will not object to enlarge his time to the 1st of November. Be good enough to let us have the enclosed agreement signed by you in a day or two."
