BUYING POSTAGE STAMPS AT VICTORIANSTAMPS.COM

Sell Your Stamps From Here.

There is no absolutely no listing fees to advertise your philatelic items for sale on this site. Many sites will charge a weekly or monthly listing fee regardless of whether the item sells or not.

Our policy is no sale, no fee meaning that you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by selling through Victorian Stamps philatelic portal.

We offer a painless and cost effective method of selling your stamps for you with the minimum of participation or effort on your part.

Victorian Stamps always strives to get you the very best price for your stamps while offering them at fair market prices. If you are unsure what to ask for items, we are only too happy to advise you of a recommended and fair selling price.

We draw latest market prices from a variety of different sources including auction houses, dealer lists and hands on experience to insure that our prices are the right prices. Stamp prices will often fluctuate as it is a supply and demand business, however current price trends are on the up and up with some large increases in value of certain stamps and prices are set to go even higher in the near future.

The stamp market is now as bouyant as it has ever been with a lot of renewed interest in stamps from both collectors and speculators. As of April 2006 stamps will be admissable as investment holdings for pension portfolios according to several financial sources. This is expected to drive prices even higher during the run up to this event as both collectors and investors compete for the rarer items. It is our opinion that collectors will begin paying higher prices to obtain stamps that are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire.

Stamps really should stay in the hands of collectors rather than be locked away for decades in safety deposit boxes as part of investment portfolios and we intend to see to it that real collectors get the first option to buy before investors move in and take good items off the market for many years.

    Selling Your Stamps.

Items from our site appear in both Google and the new Froogle shopping engine listings and are accessible by anyone with a potential audience of millions of people. We also advertise extensively to generate visitors as well as include many free features, special promotions and articles to attract visitors. We also maintain a strong database of both buyers who we email on a regular basis as soon as items they might be interested in become available for sale. We have registered buyers from all over the world who are waiting to buy your stamps, making this an excellent place to sell your stamps.

As there is absolutely no listing fee to have your items listed for sale here, then there is no loss if the item does not sell or takes a while to sell. Many sites charge a weekly or monthly fee for the listing in the hope that you the seller have overpriced the stamp and that they will earn a lot of money in fees just for listing it, or even end up owning it when the fees exceed the value of the item.

We work on results only and you pay absolutely nothing if we don't make a sale meaning it is in our best interests to work hard at getting the sale on your behalf.

As we operate fraud protection and have eliminated the risk of buyers risking their money, we have built a strong user base of buyers who know that they can buy with confidence from Victorian Stamps. Buyers who are cautious of being conned seldom want to pay much as they may equally lose their money or just be throwing it away. With fraud protection in operation our buyers know that they are able to return any goods for refund if not satisfied and can buy with complete confidence that they are getting a square deal.

All goods are also sent fully insured so that if any items go amiss once in the postal system then nobody is out of pocket.

At Victorian Stamps, we completely take the headaches out of listing and selling the items and answering questions from prospective buyers so that you don't have to. Just sit back and let us do the work for you, whether its a single item, a schoolboy collection, an accumulation or a complete specialist collection, we can sell it for you!

    The Dreaded Seller's Commission

For all selling we charge a flat rate of 10% of the item purchase price. The small sellers premium helps pay the overhead costs of running this site, merchanting fees for credit card processing and offering the services that we offer. Many auctions charge 10 to 20% sellers premium and even places who don't charge a premium will either pass the costs off onto the buyer who deccreases the bid.

We are believers in honesty and prefer to be up front with charges rather than levying hidden charges at the last minute or simply charging them without telling you first. I'm sure that most will agree that it is not an unreasonable or extortionate fee for the service we provide. Many other places charge much more and are far less honest about it.

The sellerss premium is deducted from the listed selling price at the time of settlement with the seller and you will receive a cheque for the selling price less our fee of 10% of that figure.

How Do I Submit My Items For Sale?

Items can be submitted for sale first by sending us an e-mail to stamps@victorianstamps.com or visit our simple submissions form here with a list or brief description of what you wish us to offer for sale on your behalf. With large collections just list the basics or better items and the price you are looking for if you have a price in mind and we will let you know how to proceed. The more information you can provide, the better and please let us know if you are looking for a direct quick sale directly to us, looking for disposal through auction or looking for sale through this site. If you are not sure what to price an item or lot at then we will be more than happy to suggest a provisional selling price.

All items before being offered for sale by us must be in our actual possession and should be sent to us by registered mail which requires a signature upon receipt. Sending via registered mail guarantees that you are able to check if the item was received by us or not and allows the items to be tracked while in transit. The only exception to this rule is with long established stamp dealers who we have dealt with many times in the past and know to be beyond reproach.

We reserve the right to decline items that are in our opinion are excessively priced, of doubtful provenance or obviously not as described. This saves either party wasting their valuable time.

How Long Do I Have To Wait Before I Am Paid

Money from a sale is retained for a period of one calendar month which allows reasonable time for us to ship the item to the buyer and a period of grace for the buyer to return the goods if they do not meet with their approval. Once the month period is up then the sale is deemed as final and the money is released to the seller as a cheque. Money can also be wired and the wiring fee charged by the bank will be deducted from the total amount owing to the seller. This is done to protect our buyers against faulty goods or innacurate descriptions and also to protect against chargebacks.

What Are The Benefits Of Membership?

A good question that anyone might ask. Becoming a member gives you almost immediate access to sell your stamps and philatelic material. Remember that there are no listing fees, so no sale, no fee! Being a member offers you the potential to offer almost unlimited items for sale, no more taking chances at auctions, you get to decide the price!

When an item is provisionally sold, you will be notified immediately of the pending sale and the total amount. You will also be notified if the stamp receives an offer of less than the listed price although we will do our positive best to obtain the best selling price for the item as afterall we work on commission only and it is in our best interests to secure you the best price for your material. In the case of receiving a lower offer, it is at the sole disgression of the seller.

Why Sell From Victorian Stamps? What Makes Us So Special?

We believe in achieving the best possible prices for the seller and constantly keep tabs on current market prices in an effort to make sure that material on offer is at the right price for both buying and selling so that both parties are completely happy with the transaction.

Transactions through Victorian Stamps are smooth and simple, just sit back, relax and let us do all the work for you. If submitting entire collections or large lots many places will just sell the whole thing as one lot meaning that the seller usually loses out on the deal. We spend the time to pick out the items that will sell comfortably sell on their own and will even break up the remaining items into various categories or areas of interest to achieve the fairest prices possible. Give us a try and see what we can do for you!
